THE GUDWord @ flampro.com....Is the world ending? 21-21-2012

Another day another let down. I know some of you are expecting the world to end tomorrow or today depending on where you live. But i am writting this one last post just in case "this is it". Yes i took it slow as the year winded down. There are few post sitting with dust on them in my draft box, that will prob never see the light. As winter settles in and dries my skin out, i spend more time in the house so the blog-machine is back.

So today i decided to take a dip into a side of new york i have always wanted to try but never to the time. Today i went to a cheap massage parlor and had a hefty asian lady walk on my back like Mr.Furley from the Jeffersons. It had been a long day and it was only 1pm and it had been and even more difficult week; due to the fact that a friend was killed by a Hit and Run driver. I am usually dont have a difficult time processing sudden or even violent deaths. I think being that this was the first time that it wasn't a sickness or old age or the streets that helped the person expire. It is the brutality and recklessness by the driver thats disturbing. So i felt i needed a min to decompress and who better but a random massage parlor on 14th street. I walked in hoping that a fine geisha girl would slowly teach me the arts of Asian massage. instead it was a bare bone three tables separated by bed-sheet curtains. so privacy is not an option when another customer comes in and walks right by the foot of your table, while the therapist is rubbing a knot out. A nice but chunky lady took me my table and proceeded to give me a rough but relaxing massage. She used her elbows to press on pressure points, and I was surprised as hell when she got on the table and stepped her Jenny Craig ass on my back. I wondered if my back would hold up, but just when it was to much for me. she ended our pleasurable torture season. Everything went well even though they had corny atmospheric soothing music. Even though I was happy when it ended , there was no happy ending.

For the price you can't go wrong 25 bucks for 30 mins.

This is music by my brother....LEROY BROWN aka "Brown Skin Bless in the Flesh"THE HARDER THEY FALLIts not often when i hear a emcees music and i wonder where he is going to take it. Its not often the emcee is someone i know and i can be bias enough to judge this on artistic merits and sonic structure. So take this with a grain of salt... This mixtape kills most of the albums for the last 12 months.

WWW.FLAMPRO.COM aka THEGUDWORD Higer Learning

Another Manic Monday is on us. Time to overload on coffee and annoying co-workers. This was a weird weekend, more like a weekend of Deja Vu. I like to enjoy life to the fullest, sometimes i take risks to enhance the thrill. I really cant explain it but the regular bores me. So this weekend i took some risks and it made me feel allot better, those little moments of risk that raise the adrenalin levels get me through until the next adventure. Yes i know i am being vague so you can say it may have bordered on illegal. Taking these risks at this age makes no sense but i don't have the same sensibilities as the average person. When i finally rest i want to remember all of the good times and to be sure i left it all out there on the floor. Its all about trying to excel and live to your fullest potential (sorry for the Les Brown moment. Enjoy your day and have a great week lets go.

WWW.FLAMPRO.COM aka THE GUDWORD. Pardon Jack Johnson

I went to a screening of PBS's "Unforgivable Blackness" at the tribeca grand tonight with my boy Tahero, they were showing in honor of the 100th anniversary of the late great Jack Johnson pugilist elites "Battle of the Century". The first heavy weight boxing champ that was African American, but before being African American he was "The Rebel to America" and all of its wicked and racist reckless ways. I had only been in the Tribeca Grand twice for parties i had no idea that there was a theater down stairs, small and comfortable probably seats fifty or sixty people. When i was invited i was hesitant because i had some left over seafood that i was trying to get home and eat and relax and wait for all of the trades to happen, but I am glad that T invited me out. The documentary runs about 4 hours but we only saw the first hour of it and i witnessed the last one being sold as i was walking to buy the DVD that they had on sale, I say all of that to say that was how good the doc was.

Jack Johnson was a boxer who rubbed every racist taunt thrown at him with a scouring pad he called fist against his white opponents faces. He single handily gave those enslaved and kidnapped and oppressed a vision of hope in the 1900's, and he did it with a smile on it. I strongly suggest that you do the knowledge on the Great Jack Johnson

Real Hip Hop still lives in N.Y, I knew this would be a zoo, and I'm not an animal. I stopped long time ago packing in to clubs to see artist, but the venue treats you like cows and then let the joint be over capacity, then its a death trap and you standing for hours to see an artist, that may not give a good show. I knew this would be a great show but fuck that, it is way too hot in NY right now to be packed in Club Sauna. I will catch the you tube version...

The summer is here and i cant believe that its the4th of July Independence day weekend already, its the beginning of the end of summer....
